In this position, the ideal candidate will help us modernize our infrastructure and deployment stack.  The qualified candidate will programmatically manage infrastructures in both our public and private clouds. DevOps will work with the TechOps, Engineering and QA teams to create and set standards for build and config management, monitoring in addition to building and maintaining stage and test environments code to staging and production.

Because we work on the bleeding edge of a lot of technologies, we look for individuals that problem solve creatively, learn quickly and work productively both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities / Requirements

  • Set the standards for build processes and configuration management
  • Application monitoring from the frontend through the backend
  • Build test and stage environments in collaboration with the QA team
  • Well versed in Ubuntu or other Linux flavors
  • Proficient in high level script languages like Ruby or Python, as well as Linux script environments like bash.
  • A desire to automate everything!
  • Experience with a myriad of open source monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix and Cacti to name a few
  • A desire to squeeze out as much performance as possible
  • Experience with high availability infrastructure designs in a high SLA environment
  • Accurately document operational processes.
  • Experience with distributed and large-scale software systems
  • BS/BA/MS+ in Computer Science (or a great reason for not having one, and believe us, there are plenty)
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience

Bonus skills

  • Database experience (MySQL, Riak, MongDB, Cassandra, Redis)
  • Previous experience with Cisco UCS and F5
  • In depth understanding of the network layer - routers, switches, firewalls and load balancing
